Interest in St. Francis of Assisi never seems to wane. In a time so filled with anguish, in a world riddled with bitterness and aggressivety, where respect for the environment is trivialized and consumers unabashedly treat Creation as a mere commodity, we need Jesus of Nazareth as St. Francis presents him… in simplicity, and with a heart bursting with joyful generosity and fraternal love. Why not adopt in your own prayer life a devotion to the little poor man of whom Pope Pius XI said: “There has never been anyone in whom the evangelical manner of life shone forth more lifelike and strikingly than in St. Francis.”
